The theory of fluid and crystallized intelligence was proposed by Raymond Cattell in 1963. Later on, John Horn (Cattell’s student) refined this theory in 1998. The refinement of this theory makes it remains to be accepted and popular until now.

One of the most popular approaches to understand intellgence from a practical perspective is Robert Sternberg’s triarchic theory (1985, 2000). The triarchic theory proposes that intelligence composes of three dimensions: analytical, creative and practical dimensions. Each dimension encompasses specific abilities in response to different context, task or problems.
