Master of Education (Technical and Vocational Education) is specially designed leading to the degree of Master and Doctor of Philosophy in various areas of education to cater for teaching or training professionals who are seeking in-depth knowledge, research skills, careers advancement and provide professional leadership in the specialized fields of education. Program Learning Outcomes |
PLO 1: Synthesize complex information, specialized concepts, theories, methods and practice independently in the field of technical and vocational education. PLO 2: Create solutions to complex problems or issues in the field of technical and vocational education. PLO 3: Demonstrate advanced practical and technical skills in the field of technical and vocational education. for learning and research. PLO 4: Display effective interaction and teamworking skills in learning and working communities as well as other groups and networks ethically and professionally. PLO 5: Communicate knowledge, skills and ideas effectively using appropriate methods to peers, scholarly communities, and societies. PLO 6: Use a wide range of suitable digital technologies and appropriate software competently to enhance learning and research. PLO 7: Plan quantitative and qualitative research activities by incorporating advanced analytical and numerical techniques. PLO 8: Adapt suitable leadership styles and demonstrate responsibility and autonomy in an emerging and dynamic educational setting. PLO 9: Display self-advancement and positive attitude through continuous academic or professional development. PLO 10: Initiate entrepreneurial ideas through innovative projects. Entry Requirements |
The admission of candidates from the Bachelor’s degree level must have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field with a minimum CGPA of 2.50. For candidates with a CGPA of less than 2.50 but at least 2.00, a minimum of five (5) years of work experience will be considered. All international students applying for postgraduate programs at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia must possess a TOEFL certificate with a minimum score of 550 (or 79 IBT) or an IELTS certificate with a Band 6. However, students who do not meet these requirements may enroll in the Intensive English Programme (IEP) to improve their English proficiency at the UTM Language Academy or the CIEP at any ELS Language Centre in Malaysia. Once students complete and pass the course and obtain an IELTS Band 5.5 certificate or an ELS English certificate (score of 107), they will fulfill the English language requirements and can be admitted to study at UTM. Malaysian candidates with an APEL T-7 certificate may be considered for admission (subject to faculty approval). |
