Program Synopsis

Master of Education (Technical and Vocational Education) is specially designed leading to the degree of Master and Doctor of Philosophy in various areas of education to cater for teaching or training professionals who are seeking in-depth knowledge, research skills, careers advancement and provide professional leadership in the specialized fields of education.

Program Learning Outcomes

Entry Requirements

The admission of candidates from the Bachelor’s degree level must have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field with a minimum CGPA of 2.50. For candidates with a CGPA of less than 2.50 but at least 2.00, a minimum of five (5) years of work experience will be considered.

All international students applying for postgraduate programs at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia must possess a TOEFL certificate with a minimum score of 550 (or 79 IBT) or an IELTS certificate with a Band 6. However, students who do not meet these requirements may enroll in the Intensive English Programme (IEP) to improve their English proficiency at the UTM Language Academy or the CIEP at any ELS Language Centre in Malaysia. Once students complete and pass the course and obtain an IELTS Band 5.5 certificate or an ELS English certificate (score of 107), they will fulfill the English language requirements and can be admitted to study at UTM.

Malaysian candidates with an APEL T-7 certificate may be considered for admission (subject to faculty approval).
