“I have started my studies at UTM less than five years ago, in June 2008. Since my course, Master of TESL, was a mixed-mode programme, I was supposed to be more on dissertation rather than classes therefore I decided to join a university project which was led by Dr Wan Farah in the field of Network-Based Micro-teaching. The research study focused on the role of peer feedback, by the use of technology, in micro-teaching sessions, and reflection. After my master degree in January 2011, I became really interested in a research study as a PhD research study which was introduced by Dr Sarimah Shamsudin , my current supervisor. The study aimed to investigate the discourse of “lecturing style” and “level of interactiveness” in science and engineering lectures. This study also investigated the relationship between lecturing style, the level of interactiveness and gender.” Amin Askarizadeh
“I had an enriching learning experience in UTM. With its vast, green landscape, accessible campus facilities and distinguished faculty members, the university offered me the best possible circumstance to train as a post-graduate student. The university’s research community also supports a thriving post-graduate colloquium where I was able to share my work-in-progress and gain invaluable insights from the work of other post-graduate students. I am indeed thankful for this experience at UTM because not only was I able to work closely with dedicated faculty members and form a new network of friends from around the world, I also had endless opportunities to learn and discover new things and perspectives.” Normah Ismail |
