| Assistant Prof Dr New Kuwi Hoi graduated from UTM in 2012 with a Doctoral degree in Education and Development. She is now the Head of Department of Journalism at Southern College, Johor Bahru. She owes her PhD success to her supervisor for his insightful guidance. The supervisor is always approachable and helpful. UTM library has resourceful collection of materials which have helped her in her PhD journey. Throughout the study, she had the exposure of writing article papers and presented in conferences. The degree has made her a competent academician, increased her confidence in doing research and given her the ability to share research skills with her students.
“UTM has excellent infrastructure for studies, trained and caring academic staff, well-stocked and fully updated library and the social services readily positioned to alleviate students from distress and worries.The methods of teaching are so rich that they can provide me the theoretical and practical knowledge. After two semesters, I have learned and understood the concept of development, theories of development and issues of social change and education.
