PBL is an active learning approach. Students are presented with an authentic or real-world problem for them to investigate, explain and finding strategies toward the resolution of the problem. According to Barrows and Tamblyn (1980), \u201cProblem-based learning (PBL) is the learning that results from the process of working toward the understanding or resolution of a problem\u201d.<br \/>\nWith strong influence of cognitive psychology, learning through PBL approach enhance processing of new information as well as storing and retrieving the knowledge. The process leads to epistemic curiosity and higher order thinking skills.
