    Description:

Goal setting is crucial to drive individuals to achieve a goal. In classroom setting, a goal setting will direct students to engage in learning process. In short, students are motivated to learn when they have clear outcome to achieve by doing tasks that are challenging, and getting regular and constructive feedback that could help to sustain their commitment in continuing completing tasks that need to be managed its complexity.

    Description:

Non probability sampling is a types of sampling design in social science research. Whether a researcher uses probability or non-probability sampling in his or her research, in general in choosing a sampling design, it demands researchers to understand the categories of sampling and types of sampling design and justification of choosing and using specific sampling design in a research

Sampling Design in Social Science Research: Part 3

    By : Hadijah Jaffri
    School : School of Education
    Audience : Postgraduate
    Language : English
    Description:

This video is a series of videos on sampling design in social science research. There will be four videos which will be labelled as Part 1, 2, 3 and 4.

In this video (Part 3), the topics covered are basic premises of non-probability sampling and types of non-probability sampling: snowball sampling, ratio sampling, convenience sampling and purposive sampling.

The presentation slides of this video was prepared by Dr Rohaya Talib and this video is narrated by Dr Hadijah Jaffri from School of Education, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, UTM.

This video is a series of videos on sampling design in social science research. There will be four videos which will be labelled as Part 1, 2, 3 and 4.

In this video (Part 4), the topics covered are several types of purposive sampling which are the continuation of the previous video (Part 3). There are some questions given at the end of this video that can serve as formative assessment or materials for discussion.

The presentation slides of this video was prepared by Dr Rohaya Talib and this video is narrated by Dr Hadijah Jaffri from School of Education, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, UTM.

    Description:

The theory of fluid and crystallized intelligence was proposed by Raymond Cattell in 1963. Later on, John Horn (Cattell’s student) refined this theory in 1998. The refinement of this theory makes it remains to be accepted and popular until now.
