The aim of the course is twofold. First, it provides students with conceptual and methodological tools for using video in research and second, it develops their production skills for educational as well as commercial purposes. For research, the course will guide students to use video-based methods and technologies in research on learning and education. The students will study video research in diverse settings, develop video analysis tools and gain insight into the theoretical background and ethical issues of video research. Students are also encouraged to explore the current trends and phenomena in video research. As a hands-on practical-based course, students will be guided through the process of scripting, special effects, shooting and post-production to compiling their work into a final video product. Video production developed by students is expected to meet the standard of highly professional talent. Students will apply professional techniques and strategies to market themselves in their chosen fields.
