MPPD 1343 : Women and Development

This course discusses theories and concepts of development in general and
also specifically in relation to gender and feminism. Aspects of sociological
change in developing countries will also be discussed. In addition, students
will be exposed to discussions and materials on topics and issues related to
women and development such as globalization, social, education and
political development. Students will analyze the situations in each of the
area of development involved. In order to provide comparative perspectives,
focus of discussions will be on women in Malaysia and also in other
countries.
