MPPD 1113 : Politics and Educational Planning

This course intends to provide students with the understanding of the concept
of politics and its relationship with the educational planning process.
Discussion topics will include the concepts of politics, educational policy and
planning, education reforms, centralization and decentralization, the issue of
inclusiveness planning, distribution of resources, and the relationship between
the economic growth and educational planning. The materials distributed in
this course will reflect cases from Malaysia as well as from other countries in
the world in order to provide a comparative perspective on the issues
discussed.
