MPPM 1353 : Technology in Mathematics Education

Discussion on issues of computers in mathematics education with emphasis on its
special role in teaching and learning processes. Hands-on experience on applications
of technology in teaching and learning mathematics such as spreadsheets, graphical
software, interactive geometrical software, mind-mapping, e-learning and logo
programming. Review on software that are open sourced that run on androids, linux
or window operating system. The course emphasizes on technology pedagogical
content knowledge towards appropriate use of technology in teaching and learning. A
few studies on integrating technology in math education will be highlighted.
