The journey of a researcher does not conclude with the submission of a thesis; rather, it marks the start of a professional trajectory that influences policy, practice, and future learners. A recent forum titled “Beyond the Thesis: Alumni Perspectives on Mathematics Education, Research, and Career Growth” on 8 June 2026, brought together two distinguished alumni from the University of Technology Malaysia (UTM) to share their experiences transitioning from doctoral students to academic leaders.<\/div>\n

As part of the <\/span>Innovation in Education (MHPU1013) <\/span><\/i>\u00a0course, three distinguished alumni, namely Cikgu Rinawati Abdul Sukoh from SMK Pasir Gudang, Master of Education (Mathematics) Alumnus,\u00a0 <\/span>Dr Sofiazanti Saleh founder of SAS Extreme Training and Consultancy and PhD Alumnus of FEST, and <\/span>Pn. Hazel Michelle Anak Aeng from Kolej Vokasional Tanjung Puteri Master of Education (TVET) alumnus, were invited to serve as advisors for students\u2019 innovation projects. This initiative was organised to strengthen collaboration between the faculty and its alumni while providing students with valuable insights from experienced practitioners in the field of education.<\/span><\/p>\n
