MPPZ 1353 : Seminar

The seminar will focus broadly on current and relevant issues in teaching the
four skills in ESL: reading, writing, listening and speaking, particularly for
academic purposes. Class discussions will center on issues that of research/
pedagogical interests to the ESL profession, locally and internationally. Students
will be given the choice to concentrate on reading intensively relevant literature on
issues related to one specific skill or combination of skills of their choice. With the
guidance of the instructor, students will focus, select, and read pertinent and
current literature in the area on which they will develop an annotated bibliography
and write a critical overview. The seminar aims to encourage students to think
critically, read intensively and develop a focused interest on an area in which they
intend to concentrate for their Master’s final project.
