MPM 1223 : Assessment in Mathematics Education

The focus of the course is on the assessment of mathematics education. The following issues
will be explored in this course: the relationships between assessment and learning theories in
mathematics education; school based assessment; test assessment using statistical testing
such as index of difficulty, discrimination, validity and reliability; types of validity and reliability;
evaluation of science and mathematics teaching materials and various types of assessment.
